Vorwerk formed akf bank in 1968 for the purpose of financing its customers' purchases. Today akf bank, akf leasing and akf servicelease all place the emphasis on being the reliable partner of small and medium-sized businesses. The akf group offers its customers premium products and consulting services that cover everything from leasing, the credit financing of mobile investment goods and sales financing to fleet management. The group's portfolio now also includes secure, transparent online financial investment products. Thanks to its close customer relationships, flexibility and strategic focus on small and medium-sized businesses, the akf group has now established itself as a leader in its field.

The akf group acquired new business totalling € 376 million in 2010. More than 200 employees work for the akf group. The akf group is headquartered in Wuppertal. Based on the successful German business model, the akf group has now expanded into Spain, Poland and Italy.
