The Wuppertal-based family business Vorwerk & Co. is selling its Brugman kitchens division.
The Dutch company of Brugman Kitchens has 29 branches and 380 employees. From 1.1.2001, it becomes the property of Mandemakers. Mandemakers is currently Holland's second largest kitchen chain and after the takeover of Brugman it will be the country's market leader. The Mandemakers group uses a multi-brand strategy and will preserve Brugman as a separate business.
As previously announced, Brugman's German branches will remain fully operational until March 31, 2001. From April 1, 2001, they will be integrated into the Plana Franchise System.
In Mandemakers and Plana, Vorwerk has found two strong partners, assuring the company and its staff reliability and continuity.
