Employer and Partner: “Our Success Depends on People”

As an ever-growing global corporate group, Vorwerk offers some attractive openings and career opportunities. It’s the special mix of international prospects and a corporate culture focused on people that puts Vorwerk among the TOP 20 most popular employers in Germany. What’s more, the company offers attractive job opportunities and a fair partnership to independent sales advisers working in direct sales.

Wuppertal, 6 May 2008 – In a recent survey jointly conducted by the business careers magazine Handelsblatt Junge Karriere and the Corporate Research Foundation, Vorwerk came in fourteenth among the top 20 employers in Germany. The company received excellent ratings in the categories remuneration, image, work-life balance, personal development opportunities and corporate culture.

Vorwerk owes its excellent score to a living corporate culture that focuses on people. “Our success depends on people,” Wolfgang Bahlmann, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, explains. “That’s why we value the individuality of our employees so highly.” This is one good reason why Vorwerk is an attractive employer at all levels – in administration, in production and also at the sales companies – as well as a fair partner for people with dedication and motivation.

What makes Vorwerk so special is the family enterprise’s mix of international breadth and personal closeness. This means that while the job prospects and attractive career opportunities the global player Vorwerk has to offer are highly interesting, the corporate culture and style of work within the Vorwerk family, the prevailing sense of partnership, mutual respect and tolerance, are equally important. That’s why “Vorwerkers” identify with “their” company more than most employees. Especially as the work-life balance doesn’t suffer. Flexible work-time models, health programs and pension contributions make it easier for staff to manage a job and a family, and that boosts staff motivation.

For many people, being able to work independently, facing interesting challenges and being free to organize their working day are the defining attributes of an attractive job. These are also factors by which Vorwerk sets great store. The sales advisers, representatives and consultants, who present the Vorwerk products to customers in their own home or at demonstration parties, particularly appreciate the independence and freedom to plan their work times because this still leaves them with plenty of time for their family, too.

Vorwerk is a good partner to its independent sales advisers, and Direct Sales offers them the chance to determine their own working life while earning a performance-related income. The job of sales adviser – depending on the product group – can be a full-time one or based on flexible working hours. Women especially value the independence and variability of the party system, which enables them to balance job and family to everyone’s satisfaction. And as performance is what counts in direct selling, each adviser shapes his or her own career by how much he or she works. Since new Vorwerk recruits do not have to invest in their training or in the products they sell, it’s certainly well worth anyone giving the job a try – particularly as it’s impossible to form an opinion on the job of sales adviser without any practical experience.

As an international corporate group, Vorwerk has its own sales companies in 23 countries and is represented by distributors in 38 countries. So employees are called upon to think in terms of international structures. That’s why Vorwerk fosters its employees’ “global fitness” with an array of further training schemes. The Vorwerk Academy, the core element of corporate management development, runs comprehensive further training and trainee programs and gives skilled and management staff from different international subsidiaries an opportunity to exchange notes. And just how successful are these global fitness programs? Today, people from more than 30 different nations hold management positions with Vorwerk.
